With over 25 years of experience in construction, mining, manufacturing, and maintenance, Vawn brings valuable technical expertise in policy development and procedure formulation. She has successfully developed and delivered training programs focused on construction safety for leaders and field crews across the Americas and the UK. Vawn has played a crucial role in training over 75 tradespeople to transition into the role of construction safety professionals. Additionally, she has extensive experience working with Indigenous businesses to create sustainable employment opportunities. Vawn is the founder and a proud member of the English River First Nation.

CRANE, RIGGING AND STRUCTURAL


Our Operational team leader, a proud representative of an Indigenous business, brings 23 years of experience in the Industrial Construction sector. He has worked as a Journeyman Structural Ironworker and as a Senior Health and Safety Manager on some of Canada's largest resource development projects. With a strong focus on construction safety, he has extensive experience in training programs for crews in Rigging, Critical Lift planning, site prep/early works, excavation, trenching and tunnelling, heavy hauling, and infrastructure. His capabilities in work at heights and elevated work platforms are complemented by his impressive technical knowledge base. Few safety professionals possess Duncan’s direct field experience and his leadership engagement in policy development.

MECHANICAL, QUALITY, COMMISSIONING, PRESERVATION


Gilbert brings extensive industrial experience as a Mechanical Superintendent, having led large planning teams with a specialty in equipment preservation, QA/QC, and commissioning. His expertise includes turbine alignment, rotating and stationary equipment installation, oil field maintenance, and conveyor systems, all while maintaining a strong focus on meeting schedules and budgets. He has developed and implemented large preservation programs for some of North America's largest Oil and Gas producers, emphasizing the importance of construction safety. Certified as a Journeyman Millwright and National Construction Safety Officer, he has designed and implemented lockout/tagout procedures, welding inspection, and advanced safety training programs, reflecting his deep commitment to quality, leadership engagement, and policy development in demanding environments.

Tracy is a dynamic professional with over 15 years of expertise in corporate training, specifically in training programs focused on construction safety, apprenticeship program development, and policy development for implementing temporary foreign worker programs in large industrial projects. She has successfully designed apprenticeship programs that bridge skill gaps while ensuring leadership engagement and managing complex workforce logistics with precision.

With over 18 years of supervisory and safety experience in industrial construction, mining, and oil and gas, Chad manages loss prevention systems to support large construction and operations projects. As an interprovincial Journeyman Plumber holding an OH&S Certificate, he specializes in construction safety and brings valuable expertise in risk assessment, policy development, and the creation of effective training programs. Chad also emphasizes leadership engagement to foster a culture of safety and efficiency within Indigenous business initiatives.

ELECTRICAL, ENERGY ISOLATION


A Proactive Safety Leader with extensive experience in Industrial, Maintenance, Fabrication, and Commissioning, Shane is committed to promoting construction safety through effective leadership engagement. He specializes in Industrial Electrical, Energy Isolation, and the development and delivery of training programs.


With a wealth of field construction, commissioning, turnover, and operations experience, Shane has also been involved in policy development and has authored numerous policies. He is recognized as a Subject Matter Expert in Canadian Electrical Code and is proud to support the growth of Indigenous business in the industry.

Leading our Fraud Detection Team, Retired RCMP Major Crime Detective, Don MacMillan, has worked throughout Canada and the United States, coordinating with multiple municipal, provincial, and federal policing agencies. His expertise extends beyond investigations; he also emphasizes the importance of construction safety in various operational contexts. An expert in gathering intelligence on subjects and operations, Don has coordinated investigations on Major Crimes and worked undercover, playing a crucial role in the arrests of the targets. His meticulous approach to document preparation ensures that the best information is provided to the courts when needed, as he has often been called upon to give expert opinion and evidence during trials. Furthermore, his leadership engagement in policy development and training programs highlights his commitment to enhancing the skills of Indigenous business leaders in the field.
